So, if you are like me and you enjoy the privacy of dancing in your room while no one is watching, then you would probably find this assignment out of your comfort zone. Throughout the past year, I have been trying to find ways to push myself and become more comfortable with being more open with people. With that being said, recording myself lip-sing and dancing was definitely out there for me.
I have loved David Bowie’s song “Let’s Dance” since I was a little kid. Whether I was alone in my room or driving in the car, whenever this song comes on I HAVE to sing. I love the rhythmic beats and catchy lyrics Bowie produces in this song that makes it almost illegal not to dance. Although what makes this song so special to me, is the memories that I have singing with my family, friends and even by myself.
While my dance moves are not the best, I certainly would not showcase them on the internet if it was not for the sake of stars, I had fun with it and let myself go. With that being said, I loved showing a different side of myself that I normally would not be comfortable with and being able to jam out to one of my favorite songs.
The assignment, “Lip-Sync Along,” is worth 3.5 stars. I decided to choose this assignment to be my first video assignment for me to let go and lose all the jitters I felt about creating videos this week. I had never worked with iMovie before, but it was a pretty simple process once I figured out how to add audio. I found a video on Youtube that provided a helpful tutorial on how to do so. With that being said, I recorded my video using the PhotoBooth app on my laptop and imported it into iMovie. To see how I completed the rest of the process when making my lip-singing video, you can watch the tutorial below, or check it out on my channel.
