Little Miss Sunshine and Me

Among the many ’80s romantic comedies that I adore, I love the movie “Little Miss Sunshine.” I watched the movie when it came out on DVD in 2006, I was 6 years old watching this movie… Although it has a lot of cursing and adult themes intertwined within it, I loved the movie and as I got older I re-watched it a couple of times. With that being said, since I was older, this movie made more of an impression on me then, than it did when I was younger.

The themes in this movie of what it means to be good enough and whether you win or lose relate to me more now than ever. As I am going to enter my junior year of college, I have to start thinking about what I want to do with my college degree. Honestly, I have no clue, but what this movie relays to me is that just do what you love and try as hard as you can to achieve your goals. I chose the quote, “A real loser is someone who’s so afraid of not winning he doesn’t even try,” because of the message it is sending and that is that no matter if you feel like you are going to fail, you need to still try. So, even if I do not know what I am going to do in my life now, I have to just find what I love and keep pushing until I become a winner in my eyes.

The assignment, “Favorite Movie Quote”, is worth 2.5 stars and I used PowerPoint to create it. It was very simple to create and I enjoyed incorporating my favorite quote into an image from the movie. I think this assignment helped me reflect on the fact that it is okay to not know what I want to do just yet, and that I should pursue what I love no matter what.
